Cancellation/Rescheduling policy: Sessions canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time may be canceled for a full refund or rescheduled without penalty. Sessions canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time are eligible for a 50% refund. Sessions rescheduled within 24 hours are subject to a fee equal to 50% of the session price. Exceptional situations and emergencies may result in a full refund regardless of timeframe. Such situations will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
No shows: Students who fail to attend a scheduled session without providing notice will not be entitled to a refund. A student will also be considered a no-show if they have not joined the session or contacted the tutor within 15 minutes after the scheduled start time.Â
Late policy: Students who notify the tutor of a late arrival no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time may still attend the remainder of the session. The session will end at its originally scheduled time, and no refund or credit will be provided for time missed due to the student's late arrival. Students who have neither arrived nor provided notice within 15 minutes will be considered a no-show.
Session overspill: Sessions end at the scheduled end time. If both the tutor and student agree to continue beyond that time, the session may be extended in 30-minute increments, subject to tutor availability. Each additional 30 minutes will be charged at the same hourly rate (e.g. for the normal $60/hour rate, an addition of 30 minutes will result in an additional $30 for the session). Extensions are never automatic and must be mutually agreed upon. If a session goes past the end time by less than 10 minutes, no additional charge will be required.
Tutor Cancellation: If the tutor cancels a session, the student will be given a full refund. In the event that a session is cancelled by the tutor within 24 hours of the session, the student will get 50% off of their next session.
Technical difficulties: In the event of technical difficulties that result in significant disruptions to the tutoring session, the student will be given a 50% refund on the session. It is at the discretion of the tutor what counts as significant disruption. Due to their unpredictable nature, technical difficulties may happen in any session, and may be unavoidable. Students accept this risk upon signing up for sessions.
Refund processing: By default, refunds will be returned through the original payment method. Processing time depends on method of payment.
Session Preparation & Materials: In the event a student would like to go over specific worksheets, assignments, or other materials, it is their responsibility to provide the tutor with those materials at least 24 hours in advance, if possible. Materials provided during the session may require time to review, which may result in less time dedicated to tutoring.
Academic Integrity: The student acknowledges that they are responsible for their own work. The tutor may instruct and assist, but will not complete graded assignments, exams, quizzes, or other work where outside assistance is prohibited. It is the student's responsibility to accurately represent the status of all materials as it pertains to this policy. Any perceived attempts to circumvent this policy may be directed towards appropriate staff at the student's institution.
Session Recording: Student recording of tutoring sessions is prohibited unless prior explicit tutor consent is given.
Payment: Payment is required at time of booking.
Group Tutoring: Group tutoring is available upon request, but requires prior communication. See the rates tab above for the group rate. Unless stated otherwise, tutoring sessions will be conducted on a 1 on 1 basis.
Policy Agreement: By booking an appointment, students implicitly agree to abide by these policies.
